The ease of installation

It doesn’t matter if you have to do it yourself or have someone else do it for you. When it comes to installing an in ceiling projection screen, it has to be made for installation.

Otherwise, you’ll pay.

With your own time – if you do it yourself. In cash – if you have some else do it for you.

Being able to recognize a projection screen that’s easy to install, that’s essential.

But how do you do that? Well, just follow this list and keep it at hand when searching for the right in ceiling screen:

1. Does the projection screen’s case require assembly or does it come in more than one piece?

This is the first potential time-waster. If the screen isn’t ready to be installed straight out of the box, you’re loosing time. If you have to install the housing first and then the mechanism, you’re doing twice the work. So find a screen that’s one complete unit – not a kit.

2. How many people does it require to install the projection screen?

The more people you need, the more it’s going to cost you (or the more people you need to get involved). The best screens can be installed by a single person. However, check if the one-man installation goes every single size. Because at some point, the screens become too heavy to lift on your own, even if the installation procedure is simple.

3. Do you need tools to shorten the extension brackets?

The extension brackets are the brackets that cover the distance between where you fix the screen (the top) and where touches the false ceiling (the bottom). This distance is specific for your situation. The brackets are a fixed length though.
That’s easier for the manufacturer.

But if that means you need tools to cut them to size, it’ll cost you time.

There are in-ceiling projector screens that allow you to adjust the bracket length. Without any tools. That’s a real time saver.
